Guilty as charged

The government, a Tyrant

The killing, rampant

Yet a soul, sacrosanct

The police are Wolves

Protesters gone rogue

For the Youth, Our conscience sold

To greed and gold

Is this Nigeria My home?

The Masses divided

By religion, politics and tribe

I fear that My home may be silenced

Indeed, Everyone's guilty as charged

Independence day my foot

 Where do I turn to?

North or South

Or East or West

Whom do I turn to?

Bandits or Militants

Or Herdsmen or Boko Haram

Whom do i look up to?

The Politicians or Crooks

What do I celebrate?

Victory or doom

Independence day My foot

End police brutality

 This protest...

Its inception had great focus

For it was sincerely national

Now, it is hocus pocus

For it is sincerely personal and political

If you like, sincerely politically personal

Indeed I smell a rat

At this juncture, amidst this hullabaloo

There's only little I can do

Stick to my perfumes

Yet, my faith is firm

For I have faith for genuine change

And my stand is stiff

For I stand against police brutality

Ultimately, I stand against political hypocrisy
